Dr. Kevin Severson is a dermatologist, currently completing his residency at the Mayo Clinic, who specializes in the prevention, detection, and treatment of skin cancer, as well as other disorders of the hair, skin, and nails. Dr. Severson enjoys developing close relationships with patients of all ages. His formal education and training include:

- Mayo Clinic Arizona (Scottsdale, AZ) – Transitional Medicine Residency
- Mayo Clinic Arizona (Scottsdale, AZ) – Dermatology Residency
Dr. Severson actively participated in community service and engagement throughout his professional education. He was the founder and President of CPR Start, a unique initiative that certified students in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers. In college, he served as local and regional director within the American Medical Student Association (AMSA).
Dr. Severson also contributed his time volunteering at the SpotMe Clinic for Skin Cancer Screening for the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD). As a research fellow in the Dermatology Department of Mayo Clinic Arizona, his involvement helped advance the understanding of various dermatologic diseases through clinical research—involving diseases such as necrobiosis lipoidica, squamous cell carcinoma, and lichen planus—contributing to several professional presentations and publications.
In his spare time, you can find Dr. Severson spending time outdoors, enjoying nature trails and kayaking. He also plays tennis and golf recreationally. As a former Arizona Wildcat, he actively follows the U of A basketball team. Occasionally on the weekends, he also enjoys taking weekend road trips to Sedona and San Diego areas, when he’s not visiting family and spending time with the family beagle, Millie.
